When soldering very small components, so-called SMD components, even with good tweezers it is often far too clumsy. That's why I built myself a so-called "picking tool". It actually works like a hoover, only much smaller. If you touch a component with the tip of these pneumatic tweezers, it gets stuck due to the negative pressure. The really complicated part was the design of the foot pedal, which can be used to switch the air supply on and off. Essentially, it contains a vacuum pump, a voltage regulator and an car valve. During 3D printing, a lot of fine-tuning was necessary until I managed to get the small plunger to hit and actuate the valve pin cleanly.
The foot pedal is designed in such a way that Adidas is always welcome as a sponsor :)
